July 4th 2009

Natalya dressed in red white and blue stars played outside our backyard with Norman, a friend's doggie. We later went to Mimi and Agu's house for good food and fireworks.

Jocelyn's First Birthday

Cousin Jocelyn celebrated her first birthday on June 20th at Mimi and Agu's house with friends and family. We enjoyed a pool party and some awesome BBQ and Cake made by Uncle Josian.

We spent Father's Day with Chris and took him to the Spaghetti Factory for Dinner. We sat in the Trolley and enjoyed a great dinner.

Natalya's May Update

Natalya---she's just growing so much physically and cognitively. We work daily on workbooks designed for 3-5 year-olds, finger painting, numbers, letters, and sounds. She is learning how to pick differences among things, how to color, count, select things, follow directions, and so much more. I found the workbooks at Goodwill (brand new), so we were Blessed with this finding.

She has enjoyed outings with the Church group, such as mini golf, the zoo, singing at church, parties, etc. We are becoming very close to our church family and the children are all good friends. Natalya will be returning to the learning center three days a week, beginning June 1st, as mommy returns to work, May 15th.

Natalya is wearing size 4T clothes, as she weighs 36 pounds, and is 39 inches tall. Her shoe size is now 10(wide). Big girl! She had her first haircut at the salon recently and truly enjoyed the pampering. Her trim was overdue, and tangles are not so bad anymore.

Her favorite places are Chuck-E-Cheese and Monkey Joe's. We are currently looking at playgrounds for the backyard, and it is looking more like daddy is going to build one. We have some neat plans so far.

Grand Ole' Golf!

May 9th 2009 - This is Natalya's first time with Mini Golf. Her daddy and I took her to Grand Ole' Golf with the St. John's Church group and she did a terrific job! She golfed better than mommy, and daddy got 4 hole-in-ones!
We later went back to the church for an ice cream social.

Dayton Trip 2009

Our Trip to Dayton, OH on 04/17 and 04/18

Here's my first blog! Mom, Dad, Natalya, and I took a road trip to Dayton Ohio to watch Julian perform at the WGI Percussion Finals with Music City Mystique. This was Julian's last performance with Mystique as he finished 7 wonderful seasons. He aged-out as cymbal captain and Mystique was awarded the bronze medal this year. We are so proud of Julian! The performance of the show, Requiem, can be viewed on youtube.com if you search for Music City Mystique 2009. The finals DVD will not be available until august. =(

Our road trip was a lot of fun and Natalya behaved like a perfect angel on the way there. We passed Bardstown and talked about stopping by Nazareth College on the way home. We made a pit stop at Cracker Barrell and enjoyed a nice brunch. After a full afternoon and evening of performances, we slept soundly at the Marriott Courtyard right across from the UD Arena.

On the way home, Natalya was a bit restless, but we got through it. We missed a turn and by a miracle from God ended up in Bardstown and were able to do a quick tour of Nazareth College, where mom went to boarding school. That was a wonderful experience and a nostalgic one for mom. We hope you enjoy the pictures.

God's Love,
Heidi
